Instrumental Guitar Rock (2018)

A very determined effort to play the guitar.
The original impetus to put out a record like this was that I wanted to move away from my previous pursuit as a progamer, and to consolidate the skills I had gained from my other grind – guitar playing and music composition.

Lavender did the mixing on this album and left their mark on it significantly, pushing a clean sound across the album that I could not have envisioned myself. It really brings out the players on their instrumentation.
Even though drummer Ned Cain and I have never been in the same room, Lavender’s recording and mixing of his playing gives this album a fantastic live feel.
I also recorded guitar tracks from start to finish in very few seperate takes to get the album as organic as possible – and also as a disciplinal effort.

This album was gruelling for myself and Lavender, and it also happened to be a stressful time in both our lives that left us burnt out as the ass end of this project dragged on.
Sadly, the original upload of this album to bandcamp was marred by this burn out as there were issues with the masters that I did not notice or fix before uploading.
Well, I have remastered this album and removed some long silences, so that is no longer a problem here.
Along with this comes my decision to go for a sharper sound across the album.

I am immensely proud of this album and everyone who worked on it remains in my heart.
